An ankh bracelet

The ankh is often described as having many meanings. Actually, in ancient Egypt, the ankh was only the hieroglyph of the world "life".

This main meaning however gave birth to many others surrounding the meaning of life: the ankh became progressively the symbol of "immortality", of "life force" and of "gods power over Egypt".

An ancient Egypt bracelet

In ancient Egypt, the passage from the predynastic period (the period without pharaohs) to the protodynastic period (the period at the beginning of which pharaohs appeared) is associated with the appearance of writing.

In the excavations of the Naqada III period, the first relics of Egyptian writings were discovered, which made it possible to identify the first pharaohs of the "Upper Period" of ancient Egypt.

These first pharaohs bored animal names, such as: Scorpio (the founder of the first kings' dynasty), Crocodile, Falcon, Snail, Elephant, Fish. These rulers are referred to as "Dynasty 0" (3150-3000 BC) by modern historians.
